In Nigeria, almost every corner in the vast land is littered with churches and mosques. The religious leaders are ever busy showing off their riches and wealth while many of their followers are struggling to eat one square meal a day.

Being the very religious people they are, most Nigerians dwell on the strong faith that hope will sustain them in the long run. Alas! This is precisely the weapon often used by the religious leaders to squeeze the little money they have out of them. The religious leaders, and especially the pastors, will always persuade their poor congregants to “gamble” away the little cash on them for “blessings”. As far as I am concerned, the poor folks might as well go to casinos to practically gamble. At casinos, they stand a better chance at making more money than in their respective churches or mosques.
