America, Happy Independence Day Anniversary!!!

America, our dear God’s own country!

A nation that never claims to be perfect or Utopian in nature or scope. Very much like every other society in the world, it has its own problems. One thing is universally clear and accepted about this interesting nation though. The United States is the only nation on earth where you can be anything you wish to be, good or bad. It’s the greatest enabling environment where dreams, no matter how strange or gigantic and irrespective of the racial, religious or geographical origins of the dreamers, can be realized by dint of hard work, commitment and determination.

Yes, our nation has its problems as all the other nations do. But we are very unique in our own great way.

It's quite nice to see a liberal blogger like you write something positive about the United States, for once. One can only hope the other liberal guys, bloggers, columnists and not to forget the American Civil Liberties Union can take time off their cynical and negative views once in a while, to highlight the good about this great nation.

Truly, truly (as someone already noted) ours is a very unique nation. In spite of all its issues, the United States is still the best place on earth to be. Thanks for the great piece. And happy July 4th holiday!

Did I read someone refer to this guy as a liberal blogger? Yeah right! To the best of my knowledge, he is one of the most conservative writers I've ever seen. This is a blogger that goes judging in almost everything he writes. Yes, he can be right in his views. But I hope he realizes that even the "truth" does hurt sometimes?

Truth, indeed, is bitter for some people to cope with! However, happy July 4th, my good brother.

Thanks for a great piece. No matter what anyone says, it’s ONLY in America that guys such as Bill Gates (Microsoft), Oprah Winfrey (OWN TV), Steve Jobs (Apple computer), Robert L. Johnson (BET), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Jay-Z (Rap mogul), Denzel Washington (Actor) and my man, Barack Obama (The first black president) can ARISE. God bless America! And happy July 4th!

That quotation by Condoleezza Rice is awesome! It sort of encapsulate everything great about the United States. Thanks for sharing it.

This is one of those holidays that we all need to sit down somewhere, meditate and appreciate what we have in the United States, as a nation to cherish. Thanks for this piece.

You've touched on a very sensitive subject. It's amazing how many of us ignore the many blessings of God upon this great nation of us while focusing on the few minor stuff that are negative.
