William Booth, a Methodist preacher who started the
Salvation Army in England in the middle 1800's was once asked what dangers he
thought lay ahead for Christianity. He replied, "In answer to your
inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century
will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ,
forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics
without God, and heaven without hell".
