Have you been to Delaware
where her people warm up to you
in diverse congregation—
showering the goodness in them?
Have you been to Delaware
where her cities reach out to you
with dazzling hospitality—
glowing in blissful suspense?
Have you been to Delaware
where her rivers flow, hither, dither
in majestic splendor—
beckoning to you with sweet allure?
Have you been to Delaware
where her beaches lie wonderfully still,
gazing at you—
with a delicate fuss?
