Each time people spray their bug-infested beds, closets or even a couch with some hot, pain-dispensing insecticides, the bedbug will pat its kids in the heads softly and tell them that whatever is hot will soon become cold because nothing lasts forever. Therefore, the strong belief that no condition is permanent sustains the life of every bedbug.
From the wisdom and perseverance of the bedbug therefore comes the knowledge that life itself, whether from human, animal or insect perspective, is like the firmament. No matter how brightly-sunny a day appears to be, there will always still be some patches of cloud here and there in the sky. And no matter how joyful and cozy a person's life is projected, once in a while, it will definitely play host to some moments of physical or emotional pain.
There is no ideal life, filled with absolute joy, peace and love. Those who try to have something similar to an ideal life are the drug addicts. But even they realize that the desired moment of absolute sense of contentment never lasts. Sooner or later, a drug addict either comes crashing down to reality or get catapulted to hell from drug overdose. Therefore, if we can accommodate and appreciate joyful moments in our lives, we should endeavor also to tolerate and survive every travail life throws at us. If the bedbugs can do it, we should be able to do it better.
