That is so RIGHT!!!
We all love the freedom to do whatever we want...until something goes wrong..lol.
This is most peculiar to the young people of today. They love to say they are"all grown" while embarking on an action. But the moment the action backfires, they suddenly want to revert back to being kids.
The first (and last time) my daughter declared that she was 18 and "old enough" to make her own choices, I promptly made my own declaration. I insisted that she must sign an undertaking that she would be solely held responsible for whatever consequences arose from her choice. It took her a few minutes to change her mind!
It's always tempting to grab and apply the freedom to choose without first contemplating the possible consequences.
This piece of advice came too late for me. How I wish I had seen or heard such a wise saying way back then. I would NOT have been saddled with the consequence till date.
The thing is, it's not all aspects of freedom to choose that come with a consequence. A choice taken may be a wise one after all.
True talk!
