An Odd Fellow in the Neoconservative Right.

Joe Scarborough is the host of MSNBC’s morning Joe. He is very well known for his “redneck” conservative views. This man has done everything in his power to push some very extreme, myopic conservative ideas through his tv shows. The views are such that can only get on the nerves of liberals out there. And the more the liberals are irritated, the more Scarborough feels fulfilled.

However, there is one issue on which the hardcore Republican agrees with most Democrats. It is the issue of gun control. When it comes to the gun control debate, this is one Neoconservative who stands far apart from his compatriots in the Republican Party.

Hear Scarborough on the negative effects of gun ownership: “A man is dead and a little girl’s life is ruined. I say this as a father of an eleven year old girl. Who would put an Uzi in the hands of a nine-year-old girl? What is wrong with these people? What is wrong with this culture? What right is advanced by doing that?”

Scarborough did not stop at so many questions. He went further to say that “there's nothing in the Second Amendment that gives kids the right to fire semi-automatics.”

Tom Brokaw on Gun Control.

On Thursday's "Morning Joe," Brokaw declared that the raging gun control debate reminded him of another chapter in America's history.

Thomas John "Tom" Brokaw is an American television journalist and author best known as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 2004.

Blog_BrokawSpeaking on the salient topic, the veteran broadcaster said “It reminds me a lot of what happened in the South in the 1960s during the civil rights movement. Good people stayed in their houses and didn't speak up when there was carnage in the streets and the total violation of the fundamental rights of African-Americans as they marched in Selma, and they let Bull Connor and the redneck elements of the South and the Klan take over their culture in effect and become a face of it. And now a lot of people who I know who grew up during that time have deep regrets about not speaking out."

Blog_Brokaw2Above picture shows the 9-year-old girl that accidentally shot her trainer. But why, in God's name, would anyone with common sense put an Uzi in the hands of a little 9-year-old?

Brokaw stated further that "Now it's time for the people who do have strong feelings, who are feeling that they can't do anything about it, to kind of band together and have something to say here."

Eyewitness to the Murder of Michael Brown.

Dorian Johnson (shown below) was a friend of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old who was fatally shot by a police officer in Fergusson, Missouri last Saturday.

On the fateful day, according to Johnson, the two young men were taking a stroll when the police officer pulled over to yell at the duo to leave the road and “get the f—k on the sidewalk”.

The young men’s explanation that their destination, the home of the victim’s grandmother (shown above) was not far, failed to impress the officer who got out of his patrol car to grab Michael Brown. He wanted to drag the young man into the car. When he finally extricated himself from the officer’s strong-arm hold, Brown was said to have broken into a run.

On seeing this, the officer pulled out his gun and began to shoot the young man. At a point, said Johnson, Michael Brown stopped to raise-up his hands before pleading that “I don’t have a gun, stop shooting!”

Again, the police officer was not impressed. Now face-to-face with the victim, he began to shoot at Brown. The officer fired several more shots even as the victim crumbled to the ground and curled into a fetal position.

The silly excuse of the affected police department was that the victim tried to force himself into the officer’s car. So far, this is the worst excuse ever given for the wrongful shooting of an unarmed African American victim. Why so? No African American man will ever attempt to voluntarily step into a police patrol car.

Gun Control and America.

Nowhere in the United States is safe anymore from gun violence. Not fast-food restaurants. Not movie theaters. And not even churches and elementary schools. No one, including little kids are immune or considered sacred by every Tom, Dick and Harry who are too mentally sick to have access to guns, especially the very sensitive assault types.

The Federal and state governments are not folding their arms in submission to this problem. As part of the measures aimed at curbing this national menace, a gun control legislation requiring background checks for all prospective gun owners was proposed by the Obama administration. But it takes just one organization, the National Rifle Association (NRA) to hold the entire nation hostage on the issue of gun control.  As it often does, the NRA employed its usual arsenal of stupendous wealth and political machinery to defeat the proposed legislation.

While the rest of us regular folks (majority) worry and lament over the now frequently ravaging gun violence in the society, the rich and influential NRA individuals (minority) are more concerned about the possible fall in their gun sale revenues if “stringent” rules are applied to gun ownership.

In their constant bids to arm-twist the conservative segment of the American society, the gun-toting NRA ideologues always rely on the following hypocritical factors, among others:

i.                     The right to bear arms as enshrined in the constitution. This is one of the most over-flogged issues traced back to the founding fathers that were actually referring to the threats of invasion by the then British colonists.
ii.                    Moral posturing against homosexuality and abortion. Recent disclosures of people coming out of the “gay closets” all over the nation have included several members of the so-called conservative Americans while abortion has since been discovered not to be a monopoly of the liberal Americans.

The question now therefore is when the majority of us regular folks in this God’s own country will “wake up” to exercise our constitutional rights to vote out all the senators and congress men/women who have been compromised (one way or the other) by the obnoxious NRA?

Gun Control and Life in the United States.

Nowhere in the United States is safe from gun violence. Not fast-food restaurants. Not movie theaters. And not churches and elementary schools! No one, not even little kids are immune or considered sacred any more. No thanks to the availability of guns to every Tom, Dick and Harry, some of whom, in spite of mental sickness, still have easy access to guns, especially the very sensitive assault types.

Fortunately however, the Federal and state governments are not folding their arms in submission to this problem. As part of the measures aimed at curbing this national menace, a gun control legislation requiring background checks for all prospective gun owners was proposed by the Obama administration. The Need for Parent Control in America.

In view of the pervading gun violence that is ravaging our God’s own country, and especially, the latest death of a 2 year-old kid at the hands of her 5 year-old brother in Kentucky, it has been argued among a certain school of thought that what Americans need is child control and not gun control.

Really?

Okay…fine.

However, I do also believe that parent control is as much needed as child control and gun control in this country of greatest intrigues.

Or what else can we expect in a nation where infants who, within a few minutes of their births, are fed on cow milk instead of the mother’s breasts’ milk? What manner of parents (including babies having babies, of course) will unwittingly hand-over their kids to be raised by cows (as proxy moms) and thereby having the kids grow up behaving like animals in human skins?

Yes, that’s how it’s done in the United States of America…although the perpetrators don’t see it this way. All they care about is the prevention of their precious breasts falling victims of the law of gravity, which by the way, is naturally inevitable.

It’s in fact worse where the hapless kids have parents (usually single parents) who mistake a child for a pet (dog or cat). In such an instance, the kids are turned into some idiotic, spoiled brats with no values to sustain them into adulthood. A case in point was a college kid who used to be woken up by phone every morning by a mother calling from another state several hundreds of miles away because the spoiled brat was not capable of waking up by himself, not even with an alarm clock.

It’s therefore no wonder that many kids who are unfortunate to arrive this world through those unworthy of being called parents often end up as dysfunctional individuals. Consequently, they become career sociopaths, psychopaths, pedophiles, rapists, drug dealers and serial killers.

And, as for the society at large, it’s only consolation exists either when the psychologically and emotionally-inept individual becomes a statistic among those populating the sprawling prison industries or (and) among those getting killed by judicial decisions or at the hands of similar folks?
