The Temptation of Fate - Book Trailer.

The Temptation of Fate is a tale of naïve teenagers and ignorant young adults who tempt fate with their rebellious, value-deficient attitudes. These youngsters are never prepared to take responsibilities for their actions because they think the world owes them something. And they are inadvertently encouraged by parents who do not know the difference between parental love and negligence.

JESSICA WEATHERS: A white 17 year-old teenager in the suburb of Chicago is a spoilt brat whose profane vocabulary will make a sailor green with envy. In spite of her loving, adoring parents and a middle-class background, Weathers cannot wait to be free from parental control.

LAKEERA WATSON: On the other side of Chicago, this time, a tough inner city neighborhood, is this black 16-year old who walks in on her mother and boyfriend in an intimate situation. Her mother’s parental indiscretion and negligence will pave the way for the older woman’s boyfriend to lust after the teenager. And the girl’s greed for all that glitters does not help matters.

ERIC TURNER: For this 23 year-old African American, it’s been a rise through thick and thin from a notorious Chicago south-side neighborhood to become a health care professional. He however commits some moral and legal blunders that threaten to derail everything for which he has worked.

MARY MILLER: Turner’s mother and his strong pillar of support. Miller struggles against all odds and stereotypes to ensure the emancipation of her kids from a ghetto existence. Now that her son appears to be on a downward spiral, the woman springs into action not only to save him from going to jail but also to avoid his relapse into a life of doldrums.

Do You Know What Happens After Sex?

In every sexual act, a couple doesn't just share the discharged sperms. Both man and woman also share sweats, states of mind (happiness or sadness, depression, anguish etc), positive or negative spiritual aura (prosperity or otherwise, blessings or curses). If condom prevents disease and pregnancy, it can never protect a man or woman from possible negativity in other stuff. Therefore, be very careful who you share "stuff" with.
The truth may be “bitter to taste” but every man or woman you have sex with leaves a part of their soul in you. Most of us haven't been properly educated about sex. It's almost a taboo to discuss these things outside of private matters but the silence leads to lack of awareness of what it even is. I mean it is the most powerful force that creates life. Most see it as a physical experience but forget the bond, the connection, energy exchange and the deep cellular a person experiences with a sexual partner.

When a man or woman decides to have multiple sex partners, it can send mixed emotional signals to the body's vibration system. People must be careful of different energies and spiritual forces polluting their internal temple. Sex is referred to as a sexual INTER-COURSE because it's an internal course that unites man and woman, mind and mind, spirit and spirit. This is something that a condom can't protect you against because energy is behind the elements of all flesh. On a physical level, we have been educated to use "protection" but on an energy level nobody discusses the effects it creates on a person’s body, mind and soul. It's too much of a taboo and hidden away to avoid. Be aware of what's going on, even if you've never heard it before, just ponder on it.

Waiting to Lick a Hot Soup.

“Sex is a gift from God in which you are one with another person. There is nothing wrong with sex and sexuality. God created both for the enjoyment of MARRIED couples. In our society, waiting for marriage to have sex is often considered a practice of the past. Yet, the effect of sex on our spirits is unchanging. When you have sex with someone, you’re leaving them a piece of yourself, and taking a part of them with you…” – Meagan Good and Devon Franklin in their book, WAIT.

A Set of Twins With Two Fathers.

The New Jersey Law Journal reported on Thursday that a New Jersey woman got the shock of her life when she discovered that her 2-year-old twins have two different fathers. The mother (identified as “T.M.” in court documents) got the news last winter when she received the results of a paternity test mandated by a family court as part of her application for public assistance.Blog_sex

The order was made so as to establish the paternity of the twins (in order to make the twins' "father" pay child support). DNA test results however revealed that the woman had two sexual partners who are now separately responsible for the kids' paternity.

This is grossly absurd. But then, what else really is new in America when it comes to sex? A couple of years back, a young woman appeared on “The Maury Show” to know the father of her new baby. The man she suspected was invited to the show for a DNA test which proved that he was not the father. Then, she brought another man who was found to be free from the paternity as well. After the eighth man was also cleared, the show host was livid with anger as he asked her “Just how many men did you sleep with within the same period of a menstrual cycle?” I lost interest in the case after the woman brought the 12th man from her neighborhood. Alas, even that one was cleared by DNA.

One thing I keep finding painful in stories such as these though is the unfairness of the women involved to the children born out of such sexual recklessness. The hapless kids could have been spared all the nonsense if only their mothers were not so dumb as to engage in unprotected sex. When a woman spreads her itchy legs wide open while shutting off her brain, this is what happens.

The Life of a Spoiled Brat.

At this moment, the principal hung up the phone and turned toward the student.
“Yes, Ms. Weathers…what’s all the altercation between you and Ms. Sanders?”
There was no response.
“Hello…I’m waiting…”
“I…I didn’t like the way she humiliated me in the class.”
“How do you mean…can you be more explicit?”
All of a sudden, Weathers screwed up her face and made some wild gestures with her right hand, prompting the principal to think she was being rude to him.
“What…don’t you dare…” he threatened the student.
The man however stopped in his verbal tracks when, to his dismay, the girl clutched her stomach in obvious pain.
“What…in the world…is wrong with you?”
He rushed to her side as she bolted over, screaming in pain. It was at this stage the principal saw the thick, parallel lines of blood as they snaked down the girl’s pretty, long legs.
Now confused beyond comprehension, the principal called out to his administrative assistant.
“Mary…please call 9-1-1.”
He heard the woman acknowledge his order with the tapping of some numbers on the phone as she placed a call to the emergency dispatcher. He also listened to her subsequent conversation on the phone. Afterwards, the woman rushed to join the duo of the principal and the girl in the office.
“Jessica Weathers…” the principal was calling the girl as she lay crumpled on the floor. “Are you okay?”
“No.” the girl whimpered amidst sobs. “My tummy hurts like shit.”
“Can I call the school nurse?” the Administrative Assistant asked in panic.
“Yes, please…” the principal said but soon turned around to halt the woman’s movement. “But we can’t leave her on the floor. Can you assist me in placing her on a couch?”
With the aid of his administrative assistant, the principal lifted the sobbing girl onto the nearest couch.
Shortly afterwards, they heard the wailing sound of a siren as an ambulance raced furiously in the direction of the administrative block.- Being excerpts from The Temptation of Fate: http://www.amazon.com/Temptation-Fate-Femi-Olawole/dp/1456522167/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1426784562&sr=1-1&keywords=the+temptation+of+fate+by+femi+olawole

What Manner of Couple Bred This Kid?

A couple of days ago inside a classroom the Bartram High School within the Philadelphia School District, a female student sat on the lap of a male student while they were both engaged in some “inappropriate business”. A teacher saw them and ordered the two to stop.

“Fuck you!” the male student yelled at the teacher and continued with his “fun”.

On hearing this “insult upon injury” profanity, the teacher ordered he student to leave the class. The student left the class but waited for the 68-year-old teacher to get out of the class. As the man did, he was sucker-punched by the crazy student. As the student fled (they always do after committing crimes), the school nurse attended to the poor teacher who was subsequently taken to a hospital.

The old teacher did something I love though. He insisted on pressing criminal charges against the student. And in the meantime, the boy has been suspended by the school authorities.

I believe it’s not everyone that is capable of being a good parent. The young man in this story did not just drop from the sky. And so, I wonder what manner of couple brought him to this world?

Anyway, this is another vindication for my decision to never attempt to be a teacher in God’s own country. If the only available job is teaching, I would prefer to be jobless than go to jail. God knew very well what would have happened if I had been the teacher in this incident.

Parenting With Patience.

“It’s very important for every parent to have, at least, the patience to provide a basic understanding of the fast-evolving human physiology to their kids. In the 21st Century, there are several preteen girls (as tenderly young as eight years old) who have begun to menstruate. Many of these girls, with their male counterparts, are already experiencing raging hormones that baffle them. But how many parents are up to the task of providing these confused kids with appropriate education and guidance?” Femi Olawole – Author of The Price of Ignorance.

Pro-Sex-Education.

“There are two different types of extremities in the handling of sexual exposures in the global community. One the one hand, there are nations, mostly in the Third World, and to some extent, the United States under a Republican leadership, where rigid demands for total abstinence are made. The situation is worse in Middle-eastern authoritarian societies where posturing political and religious leaders are not only demanding for total sexual abstinence but also have often relied on draconian laws to discourage female teenagers and single young adults from premarital sex. And, on the other hand, are some nations in the Western Hemisphere, where kids even as young as 12 are simply left to their devices. Young people are left to take sides with either Pro-life or Pro-Choice. No one bothers to introduce them to a 'middle-of-the road school of thought' such as Pro-sex-education by which they will be equipped with appropriate knowledge about safe sex, among other things.” Femi Olawole – Author of The Price of Ignorance.

Coming Soon.

The transformation of a writing project from a manuscript into a published book is similar to a pregnant woman having a baby. The immediate hours after the painstakingly-written book “pops out”, the author begins to experience a sense of relief, exhilaration and excitement. With the exception of the throbbing in the head, just like the type usually felt by women between their legs shortly after a baby is born, a feel of euphoria suddenly descends on the author.

This is precisely what and how I feel right now.

A couple of hours ago, I was informed that my book, The Price of Ignorance will be available for sale in about 5 days.

An African literature set in Nigeria, the most populous black nation on earth; The Price of Ignorance is the story of suave, young urban professionals who pay dearly for failing to know the difference between having fun and living recklessly. It’s a tale of friendship, love, recklessness and betrayal. And it’s a lesson in forgiveness.

And unlike most books that fall under the rubric of African literature, The Price of Ignorance presents a total picture of an African society with emphasis on celebrating the dynamic cultures, awesome traditions, values and love for education in spite of our human foibles.
